Developer Demo: ABAP in VS Code | Debug, Run & Go Full-Stack with SAP | SAP TechEd 2025

3 weeks ago 11

See ABAP development in VS Code – create, activate, run, and debug with a live backend, then jump to CAP & Fiori in one IDE. In this SAP TechEd demo, we bring ABAP development to VS Code with a live connection to your backend system. You’ll see smooth navigation across classes and CDS artifacts, quick object creation from the command palette, and an end-to-end loop—code → activate → run – right from the editor. We step through real debugging (breakpoints, variables, call stack, watch points) so you can inspect tables and state without leaving your flow. Then we zoom out to the full-stack experience: work on your CAP services and Fiori annotations alongside ABAP in the same IDE. The result is a streamlined developer workflow that keeps your core clean while accelerating delivery across the stack. Whether you’re modernizing custom code or building new extensions, this session shows how VS Code unifies your day-to-day dev work—so you can ship faster with the guardrails enterprises need.
